The Trouble With Moving

Now it's me, Taylor.

We are moving in twelve days. Like most people, I don't want to move. Most people are nervous about leaving but confident that they'll make new friends. Not me. I'm not sure yet. The packing is hard and tiring. I'm hoping to get away with just watching Christian - no actual packing. Probably not though.

Last night, Christian got into one of the boxes my mom had packed and found the nail polish. He now has nail polish on his hand. My mom was glad it wasn't on the wall too. That's not as bad as when Christian cut a hole in the brand new couch covers that my mom had bought to make our house look perfect so people would buy it.

Back to moving.
Most friends I won't see again. For example, the friends which our parents don't know each other. I might cross paths with them when I'm an adult and not reconize them. Luckly I'll see some friends again.

The only thing I'm excited about is the summer trip. I'll see lots of historical stuff. I am ready and prepared for the driving. I have lots of books, my Kindle Fire and books on tape. I'll never get bored. Besides, I'm an expert traveler which will make it a little easier. The bad thing is Christian is older than last summer when we went on a long trip and will probably be a little more bad. I mean crying and stuff. I'm excited to see Gettysburg, see where the Amish lived, ride horses in North Dakota, and slide on sand dune at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. I never even knew that people could do that before. Sounds fun, don't you think?
Signing off. Taylor Huber.

  2. Tay - I was born in New Mexico and lived there for several years before my family moved to North Carolina. We went to White Sands lots of times, and it is one of my VERY VERY VERY favourite memories from when I was a kid! You are going to love it. Just make sure that if you are using big pieces of cardboard as sleds, you bend the front up before you go down the sand dune...

  5. I've always wanted to see Gettysburg too. You are already such a well-traveled kid. Are you going to Mt. Rushmore? Moving is never fun, even when you're only moving across town.

  6. Aunt Julie - I'll tell you all about Gettysburg. We found two books that I can read about it before we go. No, we're not going to Mt. Rushmore. But probably sometime we will.
Aunt Tarythe - I'll take your advice, but I don't think we're going to use cardboard. I can't believe you've been to White Sand Dunes!

  7. I went to Gettysburg several times as a teen. It's a very historic place. You're going to really like it, and especially if you study about it before you get there.

  8. Hey Tay,

I am excited about your trip as well. I am most excited about you coming to Utah. I hope you will be able to go on the white water rafting trip, and maybe Pickleville theater at Bear Lake. We are also planning a dinner with my family (On Thursday), and then Grandpa's family (on Friday). That should add more excitement to your trip! Can't wait to see you!

  9. Hi Taylor! I've slid down some sand dunes myself, and it was awesome!! Moving can be scary, but I think you'll really like Madison. I had a great time living there and I'm excited to visit you guys there. You can also keep up with your Massachusetts friends on your new blog!

  10. We moved around a lot when I was growing up and while I was always sad to leave my old friends behind, I did like making new friends. What books do you have on your Kindle?
