Go! Yay! Go!

Hi! Rachel speaking. Welcome to our blog. I hope you'll stay with us until the end - the end of our trip, that is. Launch date: July 8. Until then, we'll just take you along as we get ready.

Every family has the story they tell to everyone. My family has quite a few. One is Christian's first words. Here is the story:

Once my mom went to put Christian's coat on. He was only a year old at the time. Once he had his coat on, he must have realized that that meant he was going somewhere. Christian smiled and said,"Go! Yay! Go!"

Well, this summer my family is "go"ing. What I mean by that is we are leaving our house in Belchertown, Massachuesetts to spend 6 weeks traveling (by car) and end up in Middleton, Wisconsin. Half of those nights will be spent camping in our pop-up camper. Trust me, with a 2-year-old, that could be a disaster. During the trip we will visit lots of family, 2 countries ( U.S. and Canada ) and 23 states. I don't even want to know how many hours that will take.

Right now a bunch of boxes seem to be feasting off of our house - all in preparation for moving. They eat everything from cups to my stuffed animals. I loooooooove stuffed animals and blankets. I told my mom that the boxes couldn't eat a single one of my 3 million blankets or Stitch Bear, a stuffed bear I've had forever. I guess they will get swallowed up eventually, but not now.

  3. Hi Rachel! Great first blog entry. Your trip sounds very fun. Tell your Dad you’d like to drive part of it. Very nice of you to feed those hungry boxes.

  8. I didn't know you loved stuffed animals. Do you keep them all on your bed? What color is Stitch? Olivia and Grant love stuffed animals too. Grant just got a frog one that changes into a tadpole. He loves it.

    1. Stitch is kind of brownish-gray. I keep some of my stuffed animals on my bed and the others in a basket in the closet.

  10. Rach - Your crazy fun family always has lots of adventures! So glad you guys started a blog to document. When I meet up with you in Montana you'd better write about how awesome your Aunt Tarythe is!!! :) Jedidiah can't wait to hang out with his cousins. Good luck starting your adventure and keeping Stitch Bear safe from the monstrous boxes.

  11. Hey Rachel,

I know that moving can be challenging, but I am a little selfish, and glad that you will be moving closer to us. We always love to see you. We have been preparing for your visit here in Utah. We are so excited. Grandpa and I even painted the playhouse, and are putting sand in the sandbox. AND we are getting rid of all of the wasps in the backyard. We purchased a foosball table at a garage sale, and are putting it in the toy room in the basement. We will be ready to have a great time with you!!

    Love, Grandma
